Maplewood is one of those under-the-radar but sneaky good Chicago breweries. Over the years, we’ve had all their flagship brews on tap, plus several seasonals and small batch limited releases. From Fat Pug to the Juice Pants/Jorts series, to the Shakey and pastry cake series, we’ve long known they make delicious brews. In our opinion, they don’t get as much love as they should…so we’re changing that.
It’s pint night, as Flingers welcomes Maplewood to the bar for a tiny tap takeover and glass giveaway from 5p-7p on Thursday, November 14. Here's the lineup, and more details:
Name: Son of Juice
Style: India Pale Ale
ABV: 6.3%
Our Description: Pilsner malt and oats bring a soft body and touch of haze, while lots of Mosaic, Simcoe, and Nugget hops produce a juicy, tropically citrus (pineapple, mango, passion fruit) IPA that is immensely crushable.
Name: Brownie Points
Style: Brown Ale w/Vanilla
ABV: 5.7%
Our Description: Malty, sweet, caramelly, chocolate & toffee flavors with an oatmeal backbone and subtle vanilla. Really light & drinkable, so it’s more like healthy light brownies than heavy guilt-inducing brownies. Points!
Name: Sneakerbeast
Style: West Coast Pale Ale
ABV: 5.6%
Our Description: Well-balanced West Coast-style pale ale brewed with British pale malt, honey malt, and wheat, plus a combo of hops featuring Mosaic, El Dorado and Sabro. A special, experimental yeast pulls out big tropical flavors of passionfruit, guava, tangerine, and grapefruit with an overall citrus punch. Light, easy drinking, and packed with flavor.

Style: Imperial Chocolate Stout
ABV: 10%
Our Description: It’s S’mores time! Get ready for a fun, dessert-like brew of dark chocolate, marshmallow, graham cracker, and vanilla. Great blend of sweet and roasty flavors in a smooth, creamy body. Watch the sneaky 10% ABV, though!
